Many of you have contacted me recently regarding the proposed redevelopment of Kirkwood so I wanted to take the time today to update everyone on those projects. 

A total of three projects will provide for the design and reconstruction of Kirkwood Road, from Westheimer north to I-10, with curbs, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting, traffic control, and necessary underground utilities with in-line detention. 

Kirkwood Paving and Drainage Project (CIP # B-100029) will reconstruct Kirkwood from Buffalo Bayou to Westheimer Road in two sub-projects and add a total of 18.6 acre feet of in-line detention underneath the new roadway. 

I. The first sub-project goes from Buffalo Bayou to Briar Forest Drive. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2020. 

II. The second sub-project goes from Briar Forest to Westheimer. Construction is anticipated to being in Fall 2021. 

Nottingham Paving and Drainage Project (M-000247) will reconstruction Kirkwood north from Memorial Drive to I-10. the project is estimated to include almost six acre feet of in-line detention. Construction is anticipated to begin summer 2022.
