July in Truro...
July is a month when the sun remains near its highest transit in the sky. The longest day was June 20th and the days are now very slowly shortening, our surrounding waters continue to soak up the solar energy, bringing us our warmest month of the year.
The warming trend continues with temperatures up 6 degrees from June. According to past records, we expect an average temperature of 70°F, with average lows of 62°F and highs of 79°F. We traditionally get a total of only 1.8 inches of rain (about 1/3 drier than June).
Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Truro Food Pantry
What a surprise it was to find a $20 bill tucked into a package of food that was donated to the Pantry this week. Whoever that thoughtful and generous person was, we would like to say "Thank You." Both the food as well as the donation were a validation of the work we do to help neighbors who are having a hard time making ends meet. The items that arrive from neighbors are a supplement to the "regular" fare we order from the Greater Boston Food Bank and add some variety to our pantry shelves. Anyone can leave donations at the Library or Community Center when they are open and these items will go onto our shelves for an appreciative neighbor to take home and enjoy. This is what a caring community is all about. Volunteers are always welcome. Call Diane 508-349-3841 or Sally 508-349-2601 to find out more.
