Dress Code :
Please help us by monitoring your child's outfit each day. You can find the CMS Dress Code in the Student Handbook posted on our website under  "Information".   Here are a few of the main points:
*Shorts and skirts must be longer than fist length with arms down to the side.
*Tank tops are not allowed, but "sleeveless" tops that extend to the shoulder are fine.
*Undergarments, (including bra straps) are not to be visible at any time.
Please review the full Dress Code in the Student Handbook.

******Traffic Drop-off & Pick-Up Info:
PLEASE read this information carefully, so our carpool line will move as efficiently as possible.  If all parents will follow these guidelines, the line will stay in motion which will result in a quicker process.  The first couple of weeks may be somewhat slow as everyone figures it out.   Here are the key guidelines:

1)   In the mornings, as you turn on to the campus, stay in the far right lane to drop off your child.  Students need to enter and exit the car on the curb side.  In the mornings, please pull up to the second crosswalk before stopping (there will be a teacher on duty there after 8:00).  This allows more cars to reach the "front" curb area where students can be let out.  If parents all stop right outside the front door instead of pulling forward, fewer cars will be able to reach the front curb to drop off...therefore it will take longer.

2)  In the afternoons everyone is in line at basically the same time, so the line will be much longer and slower.  Please be patient.  It takes a few minutes for students to go by their lockers after school before they even make it out front, so if you can come around 3:50, the line will be shorter.  We will be loading hundreds of students as quickly as possible, but we really need your help to ensure the line continues to move.  We ask parents to pull ALL THE WAY up - as far as you can - along the curb.  We will be able to fit MANY cars along that front curb IF everyone will pull forward.  If there is a big open space between you and the car in front of you and you stop wherever you see your child, we will motion for you to move forward and will ask your student to walk that direction for pick-up.

3)  If you need to park and come in to the school or if your student has a large instrument or armloads of things to bring in, you're welcome to pull into the parking lot and park to give your student more time to get things ready to get out (or in).

4)  ALL access to the front parking lot is on the west end.  This means you will need to "circle" around past the front of the school and enter the parking lot from the far end.  No one will be able to access that lot at the east end....it will be blocked off.  The reason for this is to keep the traffic flowing.  If you are going to pull around and park, you may use the inside lane as you circle through.  You do not need to wait in the curbside lane.  Again, please help us out by following all guidelines...and be patient.  I promise you we will be working to get all cars through as quickly as we can.  Having all parents pull forward as far as possible will help tremendously!  Thank you in advance for your help!

I apologize again for the length of this newsletter, but I wanted to give you these pieces of important information.  I am looking forward to a fantastic year at CMS!  Go Dragons!

Carroll Education Foundation
Every year, the Carroll Education Foundation (CEF) and Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs) work together to provide valuable resources for students on every CISD campus.  Please watch this important video from Dr. Faltys for an overview of the partnership between Carroll ISD, the CEF and your PTO.

This year, the CEF has an ambitious goal to fund one teacher on every campus. These teachers enrich each student's experience and success in academics, fine arts, athletics and so much more. With your support, we can achieve our goal and help bridge the gap in funding these important teacher positions.
