Prairie Central District in partnership with the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association are looking for both municipal and First Nation community organizations and/or schools that are interested in Take the Lead!® Leadership Coach or Youth Leader Training.
Take the Lead!® Leadership Coach Training
is for adults who will mentor the youth leaders in their school and/or community organizations.
Take the Lead!® Youth Leader Training
is for youth, ages 11-14 or possibly younger. This workshop is designed to provide resources and training to youth who will lead safe and active play in their school and/or community organizations.

CIF Approves $6.4 M, Supporting 407 Projects
|
|
The Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) is delighted that Saskatchewan communities will benefit from 407 grants totaling $6,411,037 from CIF’s February 1st and April 1st deadlines. CIF supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of people living throughout Saskatchewan.
“The range of programs, organizations, and communities supported by the CIF is truly inspiring,” shared Tracey Mann, Executive Director of the Community Initiatives Fund. “The projects supported reflects the dedication and hard work of the volunteers and community-based organizations across Saskatchewan who ensure that individuals have access to services, supports and programming designed to improve their wellbeing.”

BOARD LIABILITY
According to Volunteer Canada's National Survey on Giving, Volunteering and Participating, about 41 percent of Canadian volunteers serve on boards and committees. (2000). Despite their commitment to countless causes and organizations many board members may be unaware of the legal ramifications of their volunteer work and the possibility of being held personally liable.
This liability
applies to all nonprofit organizations including clubs, associations, societies, leagues, committees and charities.
