Frederick Douglass said that the principles contained in the Declaration of Independence are saving principles. We will explore how this hot-blooded and sexy historical document connects to the saving principles of Unitarian Universalism as we celebrate the patriotism of justice warriors past and present.

Summer Programming for Children
Over the summer children, as always, are welcome in service or in Childcare on the second floor with Ms. Carol and Ms. Sundae; this room now has air conditioning! Children's Worship will restart when the church year begins in September.

Calling all musicians!
We are asking YOU to share your musical gifts with our community this summer! Musicians will have the opportunity to perform, whether one piece, an entire service, or anything in between! All voices and instruments are welcome, and piano accompaniment can be provided if needed. Please contact our Music Director, Brock Tjosvold, at music@uuroc.org for more information.

Library open during the summer!
The Church Library and Bookstore will be open on alternate Sundays during the summer schedule - July 14, July 28, August 11 and August 25.

Call for Gardeners!
An ongoing commitment is not required. We will need waterers, weeders, and harvesters. Please contact Sarah Singal if you can assist with any of these actions at garden@uuroc.org .

Sign-up for RAIHN* Week August 11-18
During RAIHN* Week, August 11-18, 2019, we will turn our church into a home for temporarily homeless families. We'll convert our classrooms into bedrooms, cook meals, stay overnight, and provide other help. To join our volunteer team, sign up in the lounge after church on Sunday, or contact Chris DeGolyer, chrisdeg@frontiernet.net with questions. If you'd like to learn more before volunteering, we have opportunities to "shadow" experienced volunteers.

NYSCU Annual Meeting | October 25 & 26
It’s a BIG Deal… so Save the Date! Our church will have a chance to shine as we welcome Universalists from around the state and region for the Annual Meeting of the New York State Convention of Universalists (NYSCU), October 25 and 26! The keynote speaker will be UUA President Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray, and we don’t often get to host a UUA President at our church! So please save the date, to volunteer and/or attend the conference as a delegate or guest. Watch for more information as the Fall approaches.
