If you haven't visited Smithville Park (19710 S. Ferry St.) in a while, you need to check it out! In the past 12 months, we have:
- made improvements to the paved areas, making the park ADA compliant
- added shade structures to the benches around the splash pad
- added a new concrete pad with two picnic tables to the area around the splash pad and playground
- added two ADA-compliant picnic tables under the picnic shelter
- upgraded all of the park benches, thanks to a gift from Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg
- replaced the old playground with a brand new, maritime-themed one
- replaced the old, standard swings with new belt, tot, ADA and multi-generational swings
- and opened the LKN Kiwanis Splashville splash pad for the 2018 summer season!
