A Message From Lucinda Dohanian, Executive Director
I’d like to give you an update on the bourgeoning partnership between Laurelmead and Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty. Since signing the agreement, the Sotheby’s team has spent the past few weeks busily preparing for the “launch” just after Labor Day. Part of the prep includes a fabulous 3D virtual tour of our common areas including the dining rooms, pub, café, great room, card room, theater, fitness center and indoor pool. You can even travel up the main lobby stairway to see our well-stocked library. The video will give those visiting us through the internet an interactive way to get to know Laurelmead better. Pretty cool! See for yourself here.
Time to Hit the Road... Or Not!
Lunch at Narragansett’s famous Coast Guard House was a delightful way to spend a very hot August afternoon. The air conditioned Laurelmead van transported nine eager lobster eaters for a dining treat and a visit to the water’s edge to relish the big outdoors. Those that opted to stay closer to home will get to have their “lobster fix” on Labor Day when there is a Lobster Bake right here on the terrace specially prepared by Chef Jim Reynolds.
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
As the summer season comes to a close, another season is fast upon us – election season! The Laurelmead community prides itself on being politically engaged and up on the issues. On Wednesday, August 29th Laurelmead hosted a forum for City Council Ward 2 candidates Helen Anthony (left), Mark Feinstein (center) and Ryan Holt (right). It is the first of many Laurelmead forums; others include Q & A sessions with the state rep, mayoral and gubernatorial candidates after the primaries. Laurelmead is even a polling station for the surrounding East Side neighborhood. Here’s to another lively election season!
