School Board approves
November referendum
Three questions will address  district's enrollment growth and funding needs

At Monday's School Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved putting a referendum before voters with a three-question ballot on Nov. 5, 2019:
  • Q1: An operating levy increase to help bridge our budget gap, continue the strong academic preparation of our students, prevent cuts to programs and services, maintain class sizes and manage growing enrollment.
  • Q2: A bond request to build a new elementary school on district-owned land in Chaska, address deferred maintenance needs across the district and build a larger bus garage on a new site. Question 2 can pass only if Question 1 is approved.
  • Q3: A no-tax increase renewal of our existing security and technology levy, which supports school security systems, technology for students and staff, and related professional development and support.

District names two key administrators
Dr. Keith Brooks has been named the district's Director of Equity and Inclusion and Dan Cahill has been named Teaching and Learning Secondary Administrator. Both Brooks and Cahill earned their positions after intensive interview processes - with pools of almost 50 applicants - that included multiple interviews with representation from our school and broader community.
