Hello Tulita Community!

This month the Tulita PTA will provide our students and community with Family Art Night, Western Night, a Growth Mindset assembly, Red Ribbon Week, coffee at our PTA meeting and Halloween Parade, and the Reflections Art Contest. All of these activities are volunteer run and able to take place due to the generous financial donations our community supports us with, be it direct donations, membership fees and/or corporate matching. In aligning with the "Heroes Around Me" Reflections theme, I find our PTA filled with heroes. If you are reading this, it means you are part of making Tulita better for everyone. Thank you for being a hero to not only a child, but to our parenting community! :)

The Western Night Silent Auction Committee needs your help!

Did you know that 100% of our auction items are donated each year by Tulita families and local community businesses? And that the proceeds from the auction fund some of our kids favorite and most rewarding things - science, art, field trips and more.

We can’t do it without you! If you have something you can donate (a getaway, event tickets, electronics, family fun activities, etc.) or a great contact at a business that is willing to help, please contact Allyn Leoff ( allynleoff@gmail.com ) or Amy Small ( asmall627@gmail.com ).

Thanks for helping us make this year’s Silent Auction a huge success for our kids and our school!

Caring Connections
Hello Families!

"Ways To Be Helpful" is the topic for October's caring connections. Brainstorm ways children can be helpful at home. Emphasize the importance of age-appropriate tasks. Tasks that are too difficult will feel threatening to children and increase the likelihood of resistance or meltdowns, which is the opposite of what we want. We want to provide children with the opportunity to have the feel-good experience of being successful at a task and contributing to the family's well-being.

Remember, children's brains encode information in pictures. Take photos of these helpful tasks around your home. Post your "Ways To Be Helpful" in a common space where children will see it often, and refer to it whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Kindly,
Diana Nelson
