We've got a busy month coming up in August, with opportunities for training, racing, volunteering, and getting to know your fellow TTT teammates!
The first opportunity we've got will be to volunteer for the Fleet Feet Pickle on August 4. We've got a water stop during the race that we will be handling, and we would love to see some of you come out to support the racers! Keep an eye on Facebook for details, or contact Melissa Roberts if you'd like to help out.
Next up, for our team meeting this month we will be attending the We Are Triathletes moving showing at the Regal Grande at Friendly Center on August 8. You will need to purchase your own ticket for the show if you would like to attend. They are available here: https://tickets.demand.film/event/5207 After the movie, we will be making plans to meet up at a restaurant near Friendly Center for dinner and some social time. Anyone is welcome to come to that, even if you don't go to the movie. Keep your eyes on the Facebook group for post-movie plans.
Then comes one of our biggest local races of the year, and the second to last race in the 2018 TTT Race Series. The High Point Sprint Triathlon will be on the morning of August 11, and it's a great opportunity for novice and experienced triathletes to get a race in (and to get double points for the TTT Race Series)! The bike and run courses have changed from last year due to some construction, so be sure to check the course maps prior to race day. It was great seeing so many of you come out to ride the course with us for some pre-race experience over the last several weeks as well!
Finally, on the evening of August 26 the TTT will be sponsoring the Gibbs Growler Gallup 5K and 10K races at the new Gibbs Hundred Brewery location! We're looking for volunteers to come out and support the race during setup, registration, on the course, and for cleanup. Meet Louisa Raisbeck!
Meet Louisa Raisbeck!
Louisa is an amazing and accomplished triathlete. She earned her spot at the 70.3 World Championships in 2006 and 2010! When you meet her you see a strong, determined athlete, but you also see humility, kindness and graciousness. She is a professor at UNCG, and has been doing triathlon for 12 years now, with a short break to
have her two adorable girls.
Louisa states, "My husband and my children inspire me every day. My husband gives me unconditional support and encouragement. My children show me nothing is impossible, and we can all achieve if we have no fear and don't make something impossible before we try it. "
If you see Louisa, tell her congrats on being our Athlete of the Month!

Tuesday Night Social Runs have been going on, go out and join them at where Payless Shoes used to be, to run down the greenway. ALL PACES WELCOME!
Weekend bike rides and OWS are posted on FB page as well.
