Today, Tracy MacCharles, Minister of Government and Consumer Services, announced new laws that facilitate the installation of electric vehicle charging systems (EVCS) in condominiums.

Starting May 1, 2018, these new regulations under the Condominium Act, 1998 , take effect. Condo managers will have an important role to play in this process and will be responsible for facilitating requests, securing the necessary board decisions and responding to owners’ requests in a timely manner.

The CMRAO is committed to providing valuable information and useful tools to help condo managers understand and meet their legal and professional obligations. Additional resources for condo managers will be available on the CMRAO website by May 1.
