Dear Friends and Supporters of Saint John's:
|
Summer is Upon Us!
Our kids are out of school for the summer, and many are already enjoying YMCA summer camp, swim lessons, basketball and other activities that kids should be doing during the summer months, while their moms continue to work hard on their journeys toward achieving confidence and self-sufficiency. Saint John's is abuzz with activity, as it always is!
It was heart-warming to see so many of you on June 8 at our
Polo for Change event, helping to support the women and children of Saint John's! Thank you! I'd also like to extend a giant "THANK YOU!" to our awesome staff, who really stepped up to make this event happen; everyone from Childcare, who entertained and supervised more than 70 kids until the wee hours of the night while their moms were working at the event, to Client Services who handled transportation getting the clients to and from Wilton, to the staff and Volunteer Learners at
Plates Cafe, who did an amazing job preparing and serving a delicious dinner to the more than 1,000 attendees, and last but not least, to our hard-working Development team for their countless hours planning and implementing this wonderful event.
We've got lots of exciting things to come, including three women who will graduate from Highlands Community Charter School next week, the annual
Scoop Scoot event on July 12, eight more clients placed in jobs, and more! Read all about it below!

Congratulations to Erika E., Jennifer M. and Melissa C. for Earning their High School Diplomas!
Clients Erika E., Jennifer M. and Melissa C. will walk the stage on June 27 to collect their hard-earned high school diplomas from Highlands Community Charter School! Fifty percent of the women who come to Saint John's do not have a high school diploma, and through our partnership with Highlands, classes are offered here on-site at Saint John's for the ladies that need to complete the courses required to earn their diploma. Congratulations Erika, Jennifer and Melissa! We are so proud of you!
