THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW & PAULA COLE JONES
Sunday, February 21 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

"Beloved Community" is our Soul Matters theme for February and the theme for our annual Generosity Campaign, focused on our justice work here at UUCUC. On this second Sunday of our Generosity Campaign, come hear about how Beloved Community is related to the "8th Principle Project" within Unitarian Universalism.

One of the leaders of that movement, Paula Cole Jones, who is a lifelong UU, racial justice activist, and leader from All Souls UU in Washington DC, will speak with Rev. Caplow about her vision for the future of Unitarian Universalism. These are the proposed words of the 8th Principle: We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.
SUBMITTING JOYS AND SORROWS

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
Join our online Zoom Fellowship Hour after the service on Sunday (around 11:30 a.m.). Come chat with UUCUC members and friends! All are welcome.

UPCOMING SUNDAY SERVICES
EMILY MCKOWN, Y.R.U.U.
Sunday, February 28 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

During this time of pandemic, we have all had to adapt, and children and youth have lost so much of their "normal" lives. Our youth will share their wit and wisdom about adaptability, and what they have learned about it. Youth Coordinator Emily McKown supports the youth in this service. Please come support them too, and hear what they have to say! This is usually one of the best services of the year, not to be missed. This is the third Sunday of our Generosity Campaign.
REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW AND REV. SALLY FRITSCHE
Sunday, March 7 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

"What does it mean to be a people of commitment?" is our Soul Matters theme for March. Come hear a "sermon in dialogue" as our two ministers reflect on commitment and what sometimes can scare us or block us from commitments we may long to make - and especially. How might we commit anyway, even if we are afraid? This is also "Pledge Sunday" and the end of our Generosity Campaign - stay tuned for some fun ways we will celebrate.
If you have missed any of the previous live streamed services, you can view them at our past streamed services page. You can also view previous live streamed services on our YouTube channel.

OUR CARING CONGREGATION
Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.

Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ
GROCERY DELIVERY AVAILABLE

If it would be helpful to have someone deliver groceries for you, we have several folks who have volunteered to do this. Contact Julie Laut at: jlaut@hushmail.com or 513-544-2682 & she’ll put you in touch with a volunteer.
UUCUC'S "BUDDY SYSTEM"
Staying connected while
UUCUC facilities are closed

During this time of social distancing, staying in touch and checking in with each other is going to be very important. We hope you will consider being part of our "Buddy System" so we can care for one another.

You can sign up here: https://uucuc.breezechms.com/form/2184f1. Buddies will check in with each other regularly by phone to provide connection, companionship, and connections to help if needed. This is a great way to help each other.

JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org last Sunday, February 14.
From Angie Urban: This Valentine's Day marks a special anniversary for Dan Urban and myself. We are celebrating 20 years of marriage! Young and innocent living in paradise (Hawaii), we hopped a plane to Vegas to tie the knot back in February 2001. 9/11 hit seven months later and changed our lives (as soldiers and young newlyweds) entirely. Now, it is bittersweet as we close this 20th bookend to note COVID is again impacting our lives and those of our loved ones. Over the years, we have weathered many storms together and I am grateful for the strength of our marriage. I look forward to better days ahead and another 20+ years together.

From Natalie Becerra-Stasiewicz: Sorrow that my Uncle Gerry died on Wednesday night. COVID prevented his family from being with him when he passed away. I will miss his strong hugs. However, we have the joy of baby Lavender being blessed today.

From Jerry Carden & Tim Temple: We are wishing each other, and everyone else, a very special Valentine's day as we also celebrate our forty years together.

From Julie Laut: Joy in my heart today to acknowledge (from a distance) both my mom's birthday yesterday and my son, Julian's, 20th birthday today. I can't wait for the day we can all be together to celebrate!

From Jenny Hunt: Joy at the beautiful memorial service held Friday night for our dear friend Kari Alice Lynn.

From Mike and Jenna Zeidler: A joy - the 21st anniversary of our marriage! There have been many joys and sorrows through the years that we have weathered together and we look forward to many more.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
