Grandparents Day at the Book Fair
Come for lunch and a little shopping!
A Message from ORES Principal Denise Francisco
This past Thursday everyone brought home Interim Progress Reports. Parents in grades 3-5 can stay up to date on their child’s weekly progress by logging into the Parent Portal to review attendance and grades. Parents in grades K-2 can see attendance information through the Portal but our K-2 teachers do not record number grades.  Click here to access the Parent Portal. You will need your child’s School ID (this is their lunch number and you can get the number from your child or from your child’s teacher).

The Book Fair is this coming week. Doughnuts for Dads is scheduled for Monday Morning, Wednesday evening there is a Sports Carnival from 6-8 PM and the Book Fair will be open during this fun PTO event; and the Grandparent Luncheon is Friday during your child’s lunch. We hope that everyone enjoys the Book Fair this coming week – it is a very special time at our school.

The school district has made an updated announcement regarding the make-up days for the two days we missed due to Hurricane Florence. Originally, they announced that Jan. 2nd would be a make-up day but this has changed and Jan. 2nd will now remain a Teacher Workday.  The new updated make-up days are Nov. 1, 2018 and Jan. 18, 2019. These two days were originally Teacher Workdays but they will now be student days.

We want to remind all families that Friday, Nov. 2nd is a Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Teachers will be scheduling brief conferences with all parents on this day to give you your child’s 1st Quarter Report Card. Please look for a Conference Sign-up Form to come from your child’s teacher so that you can secure your time slot for this day.

We hope you have a wonderful week and we hope to see you this week at the Book Fair!
