Volunteers are still needed, sign up  NOW for your desired time slot!

If you need help with the  online  system or printing your tags, Technical Assistance Days will be held Monday, September 24th from 6-8pm at the La Grange Park Library-Activity Room (NEW Location)  and Wednesday, September 26th from 6-8pm at the La Grange Library-Lower Level. Card stock for tagging is available on the front porch at 222 S. Kensington Ave.

Clothing donations are being accepted now through  Sunday, September 23  at  444 S. Wailoa . (Fall and Winter clothes only, please)
100% of the profit from donations goes to Cossitt!!

Art Appreciation
This is the last week to sign up to participate in an art appreciation lesson for your child's class. No artistic skills required! We provide you with the lesson plan and materials needed to complete your lesson. 
A meeting for new volunteers will be held Thursday, September 20th from 7:30pm - 8:00pm in the multi-purpose room. 
There are still spots available in all classes, but we especially need volunteers for the following:

Art Club for 5th and 6th Grade

 
Join the  5th and 6th Grade Art Club !  Each month, we will create a new art project and explore an artistic concept. In the spring, we will take a trip to The  Art Institute of Chicago.
Art Club will meet once a month on Mondays from  3:15-4:15 pm  in the Art Room.  Art Club is limited to 25 students.  Please sign up by 
Friday, October 5th There is a $20 fee for Art Club that will cover the cost of supplies.
District 102 Positive School Climate Committee

Multiculturalism Book Discussion : Join us as we discuss the topic of race identity and how it affects our interactions with each other. Read the book or just show up for the discussion on Thursday Sept 20th 7:00pm in the Ogden LRC. Sign up here .

Future Superstars Basketball Camp :
Join us for this unique opportunity to participate in a Future Superstars Basketball Camp. Former University of Illinois and NBA great Kiwane Garris will lead the camp, which teaches players of all ages and levels the skills they need to not only be great athletes, but also how to read a defensive player, mental toughness, and life skills. Sign up with be through Push Coin and will open 9/21.
When: Sunday October 28th
9am - 11am: K - 3rd
12pm - 2pm: 3rd - 6th
Where: LT North gymnasium
Cost: $40/child (reduced pricing is applied to low income families thru Push Coin)

Bike Safety Rodeo - Today!
The Cossitt Bike Safety Rodeo will be held on  Friday, September 14th,  at 3:15 p.m. on the Cossitt Playground for all 3rd graders interested in riding their bikes to school. All 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who have not participated are also invited.

Author Visit for 5th and 6th Grade
The Cossitt LRC is delighted to welcome author Mary Winn Heider on  Monday, September 17th . Ms. Heider will talk with  5th and 6th grade  students about her career as an author and her new book  The Mortification of Fovea Munson. 

To guarantee a personalized copy of her book, please return this order form with payment (cash or check payable to Cossitt PTC) by  Monday, September 17th . If you miss that date, there will be a limited supply of signed books available for purchase through September 28th.
