Yankee Pride Quilts Mid-Month Update - February
|

Hang in there...
This is the time of the year when, here in Vermont, the sky and the ground are the same color - dingy white. Everything is blah, and it's hard to motivate. Most of us move through the days doing the minimum, feeling uninspired much of the time. We have a fix for that - dive into your patterns and your stash. There's lots of color in there, just waiting for you to play. Pull out new fabrics, and old ones too - we bet there's fabric on your shelves you forgot you had! Make a new project for yourself, for a loved one, or even for donation if you've run out of quilt storage space.
If you decide to make a quilt to donate, take it to your favorite donation organization, if they're accepting quilts again. If they're not, consider donating to Yankee Pride's Helping Hands program. All of our quilts go to Laurie's House, a women's and children's shelter in St. Albans. We collect quilt donations of all sizes, from baby to bed, and we take both finished tops and finished quilts. Cindy works with a number of volunteers who move the unfinished donations toward completion. If you have questions about our Helping Hands program, please contact Cindy at the shop, or at [email protected].
The usual reminder if you are coming to see us:
-Masks are mandatory, for both customers and staff.
-Please sanitize at the door when you come in. Your hands must be completely dry before you can touch the fabric.
-Store capacity is 4 customers at once.
-We will remain closed on Sundays until further notice.
**A note for our customers who order online and choose Store Pickup - orders are processed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If you order on an alternate day, or after closing, your order may not be filled until the next processing day. We thank you for your understanding. We're doing our very best to make your Yankee Pride experience a good one, whether you're walking among the bolts or shopping from your couch.

Quilt-Along with Judy
 Judy is finished with the top of her rendition of Blue Boardwalk. Her updated instructions, using Studio 180 tools, are available by clicking here. You can print them out for yourself, and be on your way!
At queen-size, Judy's quilt is much larger than the original (at left). Our next step is clearing space to take a photo. We hope to get that done this coming week so we can share it with everyone!
Block of the Month Projects
Update: "Nebula" has begun! You can still get in on the fun, so if you need some bright colors and a new project, give us a call to sign up.
 Update: "American Glory" has begun! The fabric finally arrived, and Marti got everything organized and ready to go. There is also some room left in this BOM - our sample quilt is hanging in the shop, and is much prettier than a simple photo, so stop in and see it.
 Coming soon: "Amish With a Twist"
This Nancy Rink design will be our next BOM, and we're twisting it a bit more - we'll be using Moda "Grunge" instead of solids in the quilt! Look for more information in future issues of the newsletter.

A pretty group of prints that look just like spring! All we have left of the floral print (center in photo) are the fat quarters we cut - someone bought the entire bolt! There is plenty left of the other pieces, though - how about a lovely bag, or a bright, cheerful wall hanging?

What kid doesn't love monkeys? We've got two focus prints, either of which will work as a quilt border. Add the coordinates and a few pieces from your stash, and choose an easy pattern, and you're on your way to a bright, fun project.

Judy saw this line and thought it would be perfect to add to our inventory of patriotic prints. Anyone who's making Quilts of Valor is always on the lookout for star fabrics, in reds, whites, and blues. This bunch checks all the boxes, and will easily coordinate with what you already have. Repro fans can use these, too!

News, Notes, and other Interesting Stuff
 Check out our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) every Friday, for a new feature called "Finally Finished Fridays". Do you have projects that have been sitting in corners and closets, under piles and in drawers, waiting patiently for you to finish them? We do, too. Maybe it's the pandemic, or maybe it's just our motivation levels, but one by one, we're getting them done. We know from talking to you at the shop that you've been working on yours too.
