Stewardship in the Field
When the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (PWEA) plans their annual conference, they set aside time to get out in the field and volunteer with local non profits. This June, PWEA conference attendees joined Colleen Delong, ClearWater Conservancy's Habitat Stewardship Biologist, for the maintenance of a six acre stream buffer along Spring Creek. The group checked on five hundred tree shelters and removed shelters from plants that have started to outgrow them. Buffer stewardship and volunteers like PWEA are crucial to the long-term success of stream buffers. As the list of ClearWater Conservancy buffers continues to grow, so does the need for additional volunteers to help maintain them. If you or your organization are interested in assisting with the stewardship of stream buffers, we would love for you to join us in the field. No previous experience is necessary, and we will equip you with the tools and knowledge to be successful! Interested? Fill out a volunteer application below.

Thank you again to PWEA for sharing in our mission to conserve our area's natural resources.
