COVID-19 "Shelter in Place" Updates and Questions
We know there are a lot of questions surrounding the "Shelter in Place" order that was issued for Lakeway March 25, 2020. The situation regarding COVID-19 continues to rapidly evolve and the City of Lakeway would like you to know that we are here for you every step of the way. These current measures have been put in place to protect residents and to prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed. A new UT research study suggests the community needs to reduce person-to-person contact by 90% for the coming weeks. Additionally, Governor Abbott recently signed an Executive Order requiring those flying in from the New York Area and New Orleans to be quarantined for 14 days or for the length of time they are in Texas if they're visiting. We've put several resource links for you below. Be sure to follow our daily updates on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Nextdoor) and on our website. If you have any questions regarding the "Shelter in Place" Order or anything else, please feel free to reach out to us by calling 512-314-7500 or emailing [email protected]. Thank you for helping keep each other safe during this time - we are #allinthistogether.

A Message from the Medical Center...
The City of Lakeway remains in communication with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. They have been continuously evaluating building additional capacity in anticipation of future needs related to the treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Medical professionals there are attending regular training for treatment of high-consequence infectious diseases in accordance with CDC guidelines. They have been cancelling or rescheduling clinically non-emergent procedures and surgeries where appropriate. They have also recently moved to a ’no visitor’ policy, with limited exceptions to one parent, spouse or caretaker. The main entrance is now closed and they are directing visitors and patients to the emergency department entrance where individuals must be screened before entering the facility. Resources are available at bswhealth.com , including an online screening questionnaire for patients not experiencing a medical emergency. You can text BETTER to 88408 to have the questionnaire sent to your phone. If the questionnaire identifies the need for additional evaluation, you will be given options for next steps.
