Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Contra Costasm (LCC), the Bay Area's premier countywide leadership program, accepts 25-30 individuals from throughout the county with diverse backgrounds to participate in the program. LCC is geared to people who want to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work.
For 30 years Leadership Contra Costa has been helping identify and prepare community leaders. With an alumni roster of more than 600 graduates, including Mayor of Walnut Creek Justin Wedel,
former Mayors of Walnut Creek Loella Haskew, Cindy Silva and Kathy Hicks, former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach, former Concord Mayor, Lou Rosas; Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder; and Ret. Superior Court Judge Harlan Grossan, this program has proven to be an asset to the community and society.

Sallie Severns has been the owner of a State Farm Agency in Walnut Creek since 2015. Sallie is a UC Berkeley Alumni and has a technology background. After starting her career in Silicon Valley, managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets and having successfully started another tech company, she transitioned to being a business owner in Insurance and Financial services. Sallie is an alumni of the Walnut Creek Chamber's Leadership Contra Costa and has served on the East Bay Women's Conference committee, Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and currently serves on the Ambassador Committees in Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.
