Head Start and Early Head Start is a free, high-quality center-based preschool or home visiting experience for pregnant women and children ages 0-5, focusing on the development  of school readiness skills. Education, health, and family support are provided. Eligibility is based on family income.

The Mike & David Show features the Minnesota author/illustrator team of Mike Wohnoutka and David LaRochelle doing some drawing, telling some (bad) jokes, and sharing a preview of their upcoming book: SEE THE CAT: THREE STORIES ABOUT A DOG. Viewers are encouraged to participate throughout the entire video, including trying their own hands at an Artist's Challenge.

Gather the family and enjoy a special challenge to complete each weekend! This weekend, you write and illustrate your own mini-book with a special printable from our Thursday Special Performers David & Mike!

Teen Escape Room by Mail: 
Best for ages 12-18; mailout begins 7/23. There's a disturbing collection of ghosts in our cellar, and they're busying ransacking the old boxes and trunks stored there. If you can discover their names you can put them to rest - can you solve the mystery and free the spirits with the help of four sets of clues mailed to you every week for four weeks? Sponsored by Metropolitan Library Services Agency (MELSA).

Registration now open for: 
For ages 3-11 (ages 3 - 6 will need assistance, ages 7 and up can work independently). Mailout on 7/17. Collect flowers and leaves to make a sun catcher with contact paper and card stock.  Kit includes contact paper and card stock to make 2 sun catchers (you will need to collect your own nature items).

For ages 12-18; mailout on 7/17. We provide decorator tips, couplers, bags, frosting recipe, and a cookie along with instructions and rules - all you need to do is make the frosting and design, create, and photograph a Summer-themed cookie! Most creative and artistic cookie earns a $20 Michael's gift card!

For ages 12-18. Now it's your turn, teens! Give a gift to yourself or someone you love with Scott County Library's 100 Gifts Poem Project! Local poet Molly VanAvery will create poems for 100 kids, teens, & adults in Scott County. Watch Molly's one-minute introductory video here
