ALICE Project Presentation
Deann Cook, Director of the United Ways of Iowa will present on the ALICE report for 2018 on Thursday, August 2nd, from 8-9:30am, Philanthropy Center.

The United Way ALICE Report for Iowa is a look at the percentage of Iowa households that earn above the federal poverty level, but who are unable to meet a basic needs budget. More than one-third of Iowa households are in this population. They are in all the jobs we need to maintain our communities - health and childcare providers, cashiers, wait staff, retail clerks and customer service representatives - and dozens of additional job categories. They are working and earning and still struggling to survive.   The report helps us understand the challenges and opportunities faced by the people our communities rely on most.

Valleyopoly

The Job Foundation celebrates their 12 year anniversary and the 120 students that they serve are continuing to outperform their peers in the classroom. Their students have 26% higher GPA's, 56% fewer behavioral problems in school, and miss 34% fewer days of school.

In order to continue advancing on such exceptionally great efforts they have an exciting fundraiser entitiled "Valleyopoly". It is a customized monopoly board game, that reflects local businesses in the Cedar Valley.   You have the opportunity from now until  August 10th  to pre-order board games @ SUBMIT PRE-ORDER FORM to give as gifts for the holiday to your family, friends, clients, or employees. Additionally, you can either sponsor a table or buy individual tickets to their fall kickoff event on  Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  at the Sunnyside Country Club.

Just as their organization's motto is "All Children Achieving Financial Success", the motive of this game is that the winner will have best managed their finances by having the most properties and money.

If you have any other questions or comments please contact Darvel Givens, their Communications Specialist. For more info about The Job Foundation, please visit  www.thejobfoundation.org.
