Summer Wellness for Kids
Dear Parents,

My dear friend and Holy Comforter Episcopal Preschool teacher, Robin Kapalka, created a Summer Blessings activity sheet for her kids and shared it with me. I thought of you all as we work together to instill lifelong wellness practices in our children. I have modified the original and created 2 sample versions:

The activities are examples and can be modified to suit your child's needs and abilities. I've presented these to my kids not as something additional they must do each day but more as a helpful way to structure their summer days. They may earn some screen time once their activities are completed joyfully.

I love the weekly family outing idea! Shared experiences (inside and outside the home) help to build strong family connections. Please contact me if you have any questions!

Boston Mission Trip Blog

This week though July 13, Holy Comforter youth are in the city of Boston, working with ministries who support those struggling with poverty. Follow their Mission Trip blog HERE.

Take the Youth Survey!

We really need your help to improve and deepen our youth ministry at Holy Comforter. If you are a rising 7th–12th Grade student and even if you have not attended Sunday School classes or Youth Group events, we need your input. Take the survey HERE. There are only 10 short questions and all answers are completely anonymous. Questions? Please contact Denis McMullan.

Please Note: Question 8 has a technical glitch that only allows one choice instead of any number of choices. To complete the survey, please complete this additional survey HERE which will provide critical support to decide on youth events.
Join us for a Vigil in Support of the Children and Families at the Border
When: This Friday, July 12; 89 p.m.
Where: Emmaus United Church of Christ, 900 Maple Ave E, Vienna

This Family Friendly Event will include speakers and a silent vigil. As a reminder, vigils are seen as a nonviolent way to raise awareness of a cause and to motivate change, as well as uniting and supporting those attending the vigil. A moment of silence will be held at sundown. Please bring battery-operated candles, flashlights and candle phone apps to shine a light on our administrations policies at the border.
Please come out and join friends and neighbors.
Please Come to an Altar Guild Information Session
Wednesday, July 17; 7:30–8:30 p.m.
or Saturday, July 20; 10–11 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Have you ever wondered how services in the Chapel and the Sanctuary are set up? About what goes into preparing for Eucharist? About who does it? Here is your chance to find out what St. Mary’s Guild is all about. Please come to see and hear everything you ever wanted to know. The Altar Guild is open to all parishioners aged 13 and older, and we are always looking for new recruits. Questions? Please contact Lolly Mixter.
Join the Pickup Choir!
