In John 16:33 Jesus promised that in this world we will have trouble. When trouble comes it is easy to focus on ourselves, our circumstances or even our uncertainty, but John calls us to focus on Jesus, saying that he wrote this gospel that we might believe and have life. It is our hope that God uses each of these sermons to help you fix your eyes upon Jesus who is: the Great I Am, the bread of life, the light of the world, the resurrection and life, the good shepherd, the true vine and the way, the truth and the life. In the midst of trouble let us take heart, for Jesus has overcome the world.

Returning to Worship Guidelines during Phase 2
|
We are looking forward to being #uptowngathered again this Sunday, July 5th. Please register for the 9AM or 11AM service to reserve space for you and your family.
A few things to Remember during Phase 2:
- We encourage each of you to determine whether or not it is wise for you to return to worship each week, taking into consideration CDC guidelines regarding high-risk populations.
- While we think children 2nd grade and above will be more comfortable sitting through the entire service, we are not excluding children of all ages from attending. They MAY attend either service.
- We recommend following current CDC guidelines regarding the use of cloth face coverings, both for adults and young children, also noting that CDC guidelines prohibit the use of face coverings for children 2 and under.
- You can find full details about our Reopening Plan, including a list of FAQs and procedures in place to maintain social distancing in the links below.
- We trust you to decide what is best for your family
- Doors will open for seating 15 minutes before each service begins.
- Masks will be provided
- Please note there is no nursery or childcare available.
Remember that the 11am service will continue to be live-streamed each week for those of you unable to join us during this phase.
We Look forward to seeing you on Sunday! Email
Lisa Marie Ferguson with any questions or concerns.

Dear brothers and sisters at Uptown,
Last Sunday night was difficult for all. But we thank you from our hearts for your generous grace. You showed care for one another, for us, and for the honor of the Lord Jesus Christ. We listened very carefully, and we heard your hearts.
Discussions are already underway to make sure we are continuing to move towards and walk in repentance, to find ways to improve communications, staff care and oversight, and to do a better job of on-boarding new Shepherds and Deacons to join with us in the service of the Lord. And that’s just a start. If you have ideas on such things, please let us know.
Most importantly, please continue to pray for Uptown Church, for her elders and deacons, and for our staff. The Bride is wounded, and we are all weary. We need God‘s strength as we move forward together!
In Christ,
Chad, Derek, Adam, Forde, Dave, Grae, John, Jon, Mark, Tom

Also, as we shared with those present at the congregational meeting this past Sunday, two elders - Craig Paddock and Drew Peterson - have submitted their resignation from the Session. In addition, Tom Sandy informed us this week that he is resigning from the office of Deacon. In the coming days, we will counsel with these brothers to seek understanding as to their reasons for their resignation, and to pray with them as they go. For now, we wish to thank them for their faithful service to Uptown, her people, and our Lord.
