A Message from the Principal...

School will be closed tomorrow, Friday January 24, 2020 due to a busted water line. We will see everyone on Monday. Have a fantastic three day weekend.
See you at the $10,000 Raffle on Saturday!

I recently read an article entitled: Six Things Children Learn When You Skip Mass on Sundays by: Becky Roach. At a recent Baptism the priest reminded each person present that it was through their actions that the child being baptized would come to know Christ. He said, though none of us is perfect, we do have the moral responsibility to model behaviors that we want children to emulate. As Catholics, one of the things we want children to emulate is church attendance. He continued to discuss things children learn when mass is skipped on Sundays.

  1. God is important, but not that important
  2. God doesn't really mean what He says
  3. The Church doesn't really expect us to adhere to Her teachings
  4. Mass is all about me and what I can get out of it
  5. When things get difficult/boring, I don't have to do them
  6. To doubt the true Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and the Graces that come from receiving Him

External forces cause "battles" between attending Mass and/or doing a multitude of other things. The battle to attend Mass is a battle worth fighting for as there is no better lesson to teach our children than to put God first, ALWAYS, no matter what.

I challenge you to make Sunday Mass the one thing that your family consistently does together. The Graces and blessings that you and your family will receive are beyond measure and will transform your family life in a very powerful way.

God Bless,
Cheri Gioe
