Social Justice Plate Offering

 

Did you have a Guest at Your Table over the holiday season?   Please return your box this Sunday (January 19) and place it on the chancel edge.  This Sunday's  Share the Plate" will be designated for the UU Service Committee.  We'll gather up the boxes, and the offering, and send them on.  Thank you for your generosity!

Friday Cozy Supper

On Friday, January 24, from 5:30 to7:30 pm, we will examine our fourth principle: "We affirm and promote a free and responsible search for truth and meaning."

This will be the last Cozy Supper until next fall. Both meat and vegan dishes will be available. Sign up on the bulletin board in the Clara Barton Lounge or contact Janet Rothbeind at janetrothbeind@yahoo.com  or 288-4897. 

auction Auction Donation Deadline 

 

Just a few more days to donate your item, service,  or event!!  The deadline for donations is this coming Wednesday, January 22.  Please fill out a paper form and turn it in at church, or go to our website and click on the auction link to donate.  The more items,  the better... so don't miss out on helping with our church's biggest fundraiser of the year!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:Kids ages four and older join us every week in the sanctuary for the first portion of our worship service. Children's Worship begins after the Message for All Ages.  Nursery care for babies and younger children is provided throughout the service on the second floor.  We also have seating in our second floor foyer, where parents can hold their little ones and listen to the service via speaker.

 

ARE YOU NEW TO FIRST UNIVERSALIST?  Have you come a few times and want to find out more about Unitarian Universalism and our congregation?  Then stop by the Welcome Table  in the Clara Barton Lounge during coffee hour.  You'll find friendly folks there every Sunday who are eager to talk with you!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECYCLING EFFORTS! To those of you who take out the recycling every week: your efforts are much appreciated.  By practicing ecology in this way, you are greatly reducing the incidence of critters in the kitchen, and saving the church money on extra refuse removal costs.  The city does not collect non-residential recycling in the Inner Loop, so we have to take it out ourselves.  If you would like to help out too, there is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Clara Barton Lounge.  You can see Karen Dau for details, or reach her at selway@frontier.com.  Thanks again!

 

DISTRICT ASSEMBLY 2014: MARCH 28-29, ERIE PA: A  joint effort with the Ohio-Meadville District and the St. Lawrence District. District Assembly will take place at the Avalon Hotel and Convention Center, Erie, PA.
