MARCH 2021
Black History Month 2021 found us in a unique place as a nation, and city. Our racial equity challenges are being seen in high relief and experienced with palpable grief. We know these challenges are not new. But each new day presents the opportunity to decide who we will be in response to, and in the face of, racial inequity.

That’s what makes the difference: who we choose to be and what we choose to do in times like these. Not just what we say in the heat of the day. At Trinity Boston Connects, we choose to remain anchored in our healing response to the traumatic impact of systemic racism on youth of color and the adults who serve them. We also choose hope: for our city, its youth, and their future.
This Black History Month we were fortunate to increase our staff capacity to better execute on our healing mission and vision for a more just and equitable Boston.

Organizational Equity Practice (OEP) is kicking off this Spring with Equity 101: A Practical Introduction to Organizational Equity. This three-part introductory training targets Board members, managers, employees, and anyone else interested in furthering equity in the workplace. Participants will deepen their understanding of their own racial identity, learn how our identities impact our work, understand the basics of White Supremacy Culture, and more. Learn more and sign up for this training here. Also, POC Tea Time continues monthly with its next gathering on March 25th at 3:00pm. Expand your self-care toolkit and join us in healing community here.
Racial Identity Development in Clinical Practice is a four-part training series for clinical staff who are engaged in accompanying youth of color in any setting be it school, residential, home based, or afterschool programming. This series is designed to develop a greater awareness of racial identity and the ways our socialization has shaped this identity. Deadline for registration is March 17th and slots are limited. Learn more and register here.
Trinity Education in Excellence Program (TEEP) is accepting 6th and 7th grade applicants for TEEP Summer 2021! Safe and supportive communities for youth of color are paramount in the times in which we live, and TEEP is just that, and so much more. We plan to operate in hybrid (virtual + in-person) community this summer, July 5th to August 5th, pending state and local guidance. Inquire about our program and share the TEEP Summer 2021 application with families of middle schoolers via this link.
Thank you for your enduring commitment to TBC. As always, these programs and practices do not happen without your support. Please consider a gift to help carry our healing work forward this year and beyond.
THANK YOU!
