A Powerful Conversation with Carolyn Finney
Slightly smiling Carolyn Finney, she is wearing a bightly colored shirt, and looks at the camera.
Dr. Carolyn Finney brought fresh perspective in both her Thursday night lecture; 2020 Vision, A Black Walden Pond and Other Musings, and in an intimate community panel on Friday night.

A powerful, emotional conversation unfolded as Carolyn Finney recounted personal stories, touching on racial trauma, erasure, and retaining humanity.

Over 1,000 people attended the lecture, which was met with rave reviews from attendees like this one:
"OMG - Carolyn Finney was AMAZING! I have been to so many webinars in the past year, but that was the best one I’ve seen. I laughed, I cried, I will be thinking about her stories for a very long time! Thank you for helping make this webinar happen!"

Thoughts and reviews are still rolling in. The Cornell Sun wrote an article on Carolyn Finney's talk, and a video will be available soon to share. ICG was honored to be part of the team to host Dr. Finney. Special thanks to our partners in organizing the event - Cornell Botanic Gardens, USFWS, The Learning Farm, Finger Lakes Land Trust, and to all the additional contributors who made the event possible.

Playful Nature Returns to the Garden
A small child sprays snow with colored water, an adult sits beside them. Both are looking away from the camera.
Preschoolers return to the Garden today as Playful Nature Explorers kicks of its spring season at Ithaca Children’s Garden. Last week our Playful Nature Explorers met with Leigh, Kelsey, and Jason for a meet & greet in the snow.

Nearly a year ago we closed our gates for the first time since they were installed and cancelled our in-person programs and events. It is such a blissful feeling to have our Explorers back in the Garden! Playful Nature Explorers is full for its spring session, but you can join the waitlist for both spring and autumn here. (Autumn registration will be opening later this month.)
