Worship With Us
Join us for worship this Sunday at 10am! We will sing some songs for America. We will celebrate the sacrament of communion at our open table – ALL are welcome!

We are engaged in our summer theme Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5).

Our scripture focus is Luke 10:1-11 (Jesus sending 70 people out on mission in pairs with several instructions) and this week’s fruit of the Spirit: Patience!

It's Give-a-Meal Sunday. Please bring non-perishable food for those in need. Extra donations of cleaning supplies would also be greatly appreciated.

As always, we invite you to bring a friend, family member, co-worker.

Bread for the Letter Dedication
Sun, Jul 7
Thanks to all who wrote letters at the PUCC Offering of Letters on June 30, we have gathered 79 letters to our senators asking them to support nutrition programs for mothers and babies around the world! We will pray together to dedicate the letters on Sunday, July 7. Volunteer lobbyists will hand-deliver them to senate offices this month during meetings with senate staff. If you didn’t get a chance to write and would like to, you are invited to write a short letter to Senator Blunt and one to Senator Hawley explaining why you care about feeding hungry people and containing the request, “I ask you to accelerate progress on global nutrition by co-sponsoring S. Res. 260.” Include your name and address on your letter and bring it to worship on Sunday to be included in the letter dedication.

If you weren’t with us last week, we would very much like you to consider writing to our US Senators about the plight of hungry people. Bring the letter(s) with you this Sunday or scan/snap a photo and send it to [email protected] by early Sunday morning.

Thank you all so very much for the get well cards, messages and prayers. My father and I are on the upswing. The kidney is having very good behavior. In fact, it started working the moment it was “installed”... right on the operating table! So all of those prayers were definitely strong and beyond powerful! Again - thank you! See you all as soon as I can return. Peace and love, Greg Schmelig

Humor
What do you get when you cross Captain America with the Incredible Hulk? The Star-Spangled Banner.

How come there's no Knock Knock Joke about America? Because freedom rings.

What kind of tea did the American colonists want? Liberty.

What was the most popular dance in 1776?
Indepen-dance.

The difference between a duck and George Washington?
One has a bill on his face, and the other has his face on a bill.

Did you hear the one about the Liberty Bell?
Yeah, it cracked me up!

What did one flag say to the other flag?
Nothing. It just waved.
Inspiration
Inspiration as we continue to think about the Fruit of the Spirit: JOY that we experienced together last Sunday ….

"Whence comes this idea that if what we are doing is fun, it can’t be God’s will? The God who made giraffes, a baby’s fingernails, a puppy’s tail, a crooknecked squash, the bobwhite’s call, and a young girl’s giggle, has a sense of humor. Make no mistake about that."
