This Week's Service:
To Carry with Me

Exploring what becomes important as we go forward in life. Guest Speaker Elizabeth Osta.

This Week's Drop-In Discussion: Overpopulation - Is it a Legitimate Concern? Why should we care about population size? How do you define overpopulation? Is it really an issue? Doesn't the earth have a natural way of population control? Will there be enough resources to go around? Come join us for a lively discussion. Shelly Adams will facilitate.

New UUA Logo

A new logo for the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is part of an initiative to help congregations reach out to millennial generation and others who are unchurched. Random testing groups of UUs and non-UUs described emotions and images evoked by this logo with words such as brave, enlightening, warm, spiritual, energizing, having integrity, welcoming and determined.

The UUA used the "starburst" logo from late 2005 until early 2014. Congregations and other UU organizations may continue to use this logo.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR AUGUST 17, 2014:

NEXT SERVICE: Sunday, August 24: Competing ENDS.We all strive to live ethical lives, but is it really possible to be completely and totally ethical all of the time? I will apply a different framework to looking at this ancient dilemma. Rev. Peter House.

NEXT DROP-IN DISCUSSION: Sunday, August 24: The Problem of Evil and the Problem of Good. People who believe in an all-powerful, all-wise, all-good deity struggle with the question of how evil arises in the world. But atheists and materialists struggle with the opposite question. How is it that goodness and the desire to be good arose in the world? Phil Ebersole will facilitate.

ARE YOU NEW TO FIRST UNIVERSALIST?  Have you come a few times and want to find out more about Unitarian Universalism and our congregation?  Then stop by the Welcome Table  in the Clara Barton Lounge during coffee hour.  You'll find friendly folks there every Sunday who are eager to talk with you!
