Your Community Brief from Oak Ridge High School
Friday, November 8, 2019
|
Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day. Fewer than 10 percent of Americans can claim the title "veteran." Far less than 1 percent of our population is currently defending us in the Global War on Terrorism. In this special Veterans Day edition we have featured current veterans that are on our staff as well as family of staff members that have served in the U.S. armed forces. I think you will enjoy reading a little bit about what these fine Americans have done for the security of our country.
This weekend and on Monday I ask a favor of our school community. If you know of a veteran or see one of our Oak Ridge staff members who have served personally or one who has a family member that has worn the uniform, kindly take a moment to say thank you. It would mean a great deal to these people who have worked so hard and often at great personal risk to give us the many freedoms only the United States of America enjoys.
On behalf of Oak Ridge High School, thank you veterans for your service.
With Pioneer Pride,
Ms. Jennifer Bellinger
Principal
