CBP Updates Minimum Security Criteria

USTR to Accept Exclusion Requests for List 3 of China Tariffs
On June 20th, 2019, the US Trade Representative (USTR) released the procedure for requesting exclusions to List 3 of the Section 301 Tariffs on Chinese goods.

Interested parties may file requests on the USTR portal from June 30th through September 30th, 2019. 

Implementation of Additional China Tariffs on Hold
During a press conference on June 29th, 2019, it was announced that the U.S. will suspend the implementation of additional tariffs on Chinese goods, though the current Section 301 tariffs remain, as negotiations with China resume.

 
USTR Releases 6th set of HTS Exclusions on Chinese Goods
On July 9, 2019, the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published the sixth set of HTS exclusions to List 1 of the Section 301 tariffs on Chinese goods in the Federal Register.

All lists are retroactive to July 6, 2018 but extend only up to one year from the publication date in the Federal Register. The exclusions are available to any importer.  

More Articles Added to the Proposed Section 301 Airbus EU Dispute
The United States Trade Representative (USTR) published in the Federal Register an additional 89 tariff subheadings with an approximate value of $4 billion to the initial list of tariff subheadings valued at $21 billion.

This is in response to public comments and additional analysis of the original proposed Section 301 to enforce U.S. rights in the Airbus dispute.
