Client Success: Accessing Capital
Mandina's Custom Cabinets

Seeking Loan Options
Mandina's Custom Cabinets, currently owned by Scott Jones, has been servicing Shasta County since 1984 and specializes in making and installing custom cabinets, office furniture, carpentry trim, fireplace mantles, outdoor kitchens and more.

Mr. Jones wanted to purchase equipment to expand his business, but was facing lower than average income for the last half of 2018 and early 2019 (as was most of the North State). He decided to reach out to the SBDC for assistance. His relationship with the SBDC had been fostered for many years and he knew it was a good option for help with obtaining capital. Scott noted that he has "... been working with the SBDC and Joe Rodola for over 7 years and they have been a great help, on several occasions, in finding me financing for my business."

Getting Expert Help
Scott met with our loan advisor, Joe Rodola on March 11th 2019 to go over his loan options and was advised to apply for an SBA EI loan. Joe walked Mr. Jones through the loan process and what he needed to apply for the loan. Mr. Rodola continued to assist in the application process as needed and made sure the application was moving forward.
Just What He Needed
After about ten weeks of beginning the process, Scott was approved by the SBA for a loan of $50k. With this money he was able to focus his efforts on business growth by purchasing some needed equipment to help with his expansion as work begins to increase again and expand even further.

Things are looking great for Mandina's. Have you thought about reaching out to your local SBDC for business assistance?  Visit the NorCal SBDC website for more information and to find an SBDC near you: https://www.norcalsbdc.org/
