Diane DeChillo will retire at the end of March after a 16-year career as Library Program Manager and Grant Writer for SRL. "I will miss the Library community, my colleagues and the many friends I have met during my time here," she said. "It has been an honor to work with the Library's outstanding Director, Jody Ford, over these many years. From the start, I knew it was a fit, as we visioned programs and events, and later co-chaired the annual Library Fair as a team. It has also been a privilege to have been entrusted by the Library Board with the task of grant writing for the Library's ten-year stabilization and restoration project for the library's beautiful 1798 historic building. As a Town of Rochester resident, SRL is my home library, and I fully intend to stay connected, whether borrowing books or attending new programs which have brought so much enjoyment to us all."

Wednesday, March 17
an 11am Zoom meeting
This month we are reading Winter at the Door by Sarah Graves. Lizzie Snow has accepted a job as a neighborhood liaison officer in the remote Maine town of Bearkill after she receives a tip that her missing niece may be nearby. However, Sheriff Cody Chevrier has ulterior motives in offering her the job: he's convinced some area suicides of retired cops are actually murders and hopes Lizzie's homicide experience will help his off-the-record investigation.

CLIO'S MUSE A History Reading Club |
Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12:30pm
in the Library Yard
In case of rain, we will have a Zoom meeting on April 14
Our next book is The Splendid and the Vile: a Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Eric Larsen. A fresh and compelling portrait of Winston Churchill and London during the Blitz. On Winston Churchill's first day as Prime Minister, Hitler invaded Holland and Belgium. Poland and Czechoslovakia had already fallen, and the Dunkirk evacuation was just two weeks away. For the next twelve months, Hitler would wage a relentless bombing campaign, killing 45,000 Britons. It was up to Churchill to hold the country together and persuade President Franklin Roosevelt that Britain was a worthy ally - and willing to fight to the end.
