NEXT DROP-IN DISCUSSION: Sunday, December 7: Fight for Fifteen. Shirley Bond will discuss the arguments for a minimum wage of $15 an hour and the campaign to make it so. **There will be another action in the coming days to draw public attention to this effort to achieve economic justice. To receive details of when and where to join the interfaith solidarity with this growing movement -- a breakfast and/or lunch presence with the workers, and then accompanying workers the following morning as they are reinstated after the one-day strike -- contact Lyle Jenks at [email protected] by Tuesday, December 2.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Kids ages four and older join us every week in the sanctuary for the first portion of our worship service. Children's Worship begins after the Message for All Ages. Nursery care for babies and younger children is on the second floor provided throughout the service. We also have seating in our second floor foyer, where parents can hold their little ones and listen to the service via speaker.

BOOK GROUP: TODAY, Sunday, November 30 at 12:15 pm in the Adult Lounge. We'll discuss "Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline. All are welcome. It would be helpful to have read the book but not necessary. See Sarah Singal or Shirley Bond.
ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, a woodwind quintet from the Eastman School of Music will play a number of selections for our worship service. If you would like to hear the entire prelude, which will begin at 10:20, plan to show up a few minutes earlier than usual. Let's give them a warm welcome!
IF YOU ARE NEW to First Universalist or to Unitarian Universalism, we invite you to take part in an orientation session. On December 7, we'll discuss our order of service and hymn book...the meaning behind different parts of our service and what resources you can find in our hymnal. The session will begin at 11:45 am in the Adult Lounge and last for about an hour. Child care will be available. We look forward to getting to know you better.
JAN HICKMAN CLOSEOUT BOOK SALE: Her collection, which includes a huge selection of cookbooks, will be offered for sale in the Clara Barton lounge during coffee hour on Sunday, Dec. 7. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the church.

DECK THE HALLS WITH...CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS! Please help make the sanctuary beautiful for Christmas by ordering a poinsettia plant for $9. You can place your order with Marcy Klein or Eileen Fernandez by Sunday, December 14th. Please specify whether you will take the plant home with you after the Christmas Eve service or you want to donate it to our Congregation without Walls. If you'd like to dedicate the plant in memory or honor of someone, we'll list his/her name in the Order of Service on Sunday, December 21st and on Christmas Eve. Also, if you'd like to deliver a plant to someone, we welcome your help!
MITTEN TREE: Please bring in mittens, gloves, hats and scarves, and place them under the tree. This year, in addition to children at School 7, we will collect items for adults, and hope to provide warmth for the difficult to serve homeless population that often seek shelter around our church. Please bring bulky items directly to the House of Mercy at 725 Hudson Avenue (546-2580). Last day to drop off items is Sunday, December 28.
SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE SURVEY FORM: Please take the time to fill our orange survey form by the Social Justice bulletin board in the Clara Barton lounge. Your input will help us to prioritize issues and stay engaged in those initiatives you want to participate in.
