July 11, 18, & 25, 2019
August 1, 2019

Are you new in the parish and looking for an opportunity to get to know us a little better? Are you a long time member and just enjoy spending time with beloved ones here?  Are you somewhere in between and have a little free time on a Thursday evening? Are you tired of cooking and want to stay out of the kitchen on Thursday night? Are you interested in checking out the food truck offerings on Thursday evenings at Brook Run from 5:00 pm until dark?

Please join us on Thursday evenings July 11, July 18, July 25 and Aug. 1.   Come for just one or come for all four Thursdays. Come for all or part of the evening. Food trucks offering tacos, burgers, gyros, etc. are located across the street in Brook Run Park from 5:00 pm until dark. (The church will be open from 6:00 - 8:30 pm.) You can park at St Patrick’s and walk across the street to the food trucks. Walkers who would like to go as a group will leave from the south side of the parking lot at 6:00 pm. Come back to the parlor by 7:00 pm for he rbal iced tea and conversation. If Food Trucks do not appeal, join us at 7:00pm in the parlor for conversation. If the weather is pleasant we will move into the garden.  Compline, a lovely evening prayer service, will be offered at 8:00 pm to close the day. You will be on your way home by 8:30 for some holy rest.

Christmas in July
Sunday, July 21, 2019

Join us on July 21 for an “Outback” Christmas in July!

The music will have a Christmas theme! We will celebrate by putting gifts under the tree to support our Malachi’s ministry. The Christmas festivities will continue after the 10:30 service with a barbecue lunch "outback".

We ask you to shop for the following items, which will be blessed during the 10:30 service:
- Backpacks
- Highlighters
- No. 2 pencils
- Folders
- Composition books
- Crayons
- Colored pencils
- Loose-leaf notebook paper
- Spiral notebooks

Lunch tickets will be available for a $5 donation, or entry is free with the donation of a school supply item to place under the tree. Proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies to benefit our Malachi’s community.

To help get us in the Christmas spirit, please bring 2 dozen Christmas cookies to share and wear festive Christmas attire!

Take Action! Join Us!

The Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing held a meeting on July 1 to address the concerns of immigration with a focus on detention camps in America. More than 35 people from various parishes and local organizations attended. Together, we came up with various "calls to action" to bring awareness to the inhumane conditions of detention camps, and to end their existence, especially for those who are too young to have a voice. Attached is the list of the actionable steps that you and your parish, friends and family can take to help end human detention camps. Please feel free to reply with any ideas you may have, or to share with us actions you may already have taken. Together, we will make a change!
