2019 UBCM Convention Registration      
 
UBCM's 2019 Annual Convention and Tradeshow will be held September 25-27 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Registration is now open and will close September 13. Registration will be available onsite thereafter within the limitations of each venue. Read more 
Ride-Hailing Regulations Announced       
 
New ride-hailing regulations announced by the Province focus on passenger, driver and company safety and open the door for companies to make application in early September. The new regulations will also impact some regulatory and administrative powers presently held by municipalities in relation to passenger directed vehicles. Read more  
Call for Nominations: UBCM Executive      
 
A Call for Nominations has been issued to local elected officials wishing to serve on the 2019-2020 UBCM Executive. The deadline for advance nominations is Wednesday July 31, 2019. The Call for Nominations provides information about the positions open for nomination, the procedures, Executive member responsibilities, as well as a nomination form. Read more
Input Sought for Convention Forums       
 
Tuesday, September 24 is Forum Day at UBCM Convention. Whether you are an electoral area director, urban mayor, councillor from a small community, or from somewhere in-between, UBCM has the right forum for you. Help shape the agendas for this year's forums by emailing your topic requests by Friday, August 9. Read more
Consultation on Daylight Savings Time        
 
The Province is consulting British Columbians on the practice of switching biannually between Daylight Savings Time (DST) and Standard Time. The states of Washington, Oregon and California, are now considering legislation that, if passed, will result in those jurisdictions adopting DST year-round. Read more
