If you could improve transportation along Linwood Boulevard in Kansas City, what would you do? The City of Kansas City, in coordination with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), is developing the Linwood Corridor Plan to discover the answers. Attend the public open house to share your thoughts with us. The meeting will begin with a short presentation at 5:45 p.m. Then we'll discuss challenges, opportunities, and more. Additional information about the corridor is available on our Data Dashboard.
Background
The
Linwood Corridor Plan will explore the potential for an on-street bikeway and walkability improvements on Linwood Boulevard. It will also explore opportunities to connect to the University of Kansas Medical Center, 39th Street District, Rock Island "Rails-to-Trails" Alignment (also known as the Katy Trail Spur), Blue River Trail, and the Emanuel Cleaver II/Brush Creek Trail system.
In addition, the planning effort will advance the transportation recommendations of Bike KC and the Greater Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan. The final plan will provide detailed information that City staff, elected officials, and community members may use as they pursue funding for design and construction of recommended improvements. The City and MARC are funding the planning effort through MARC's Planning Sustainable Places Program.
