Dear friends,

Kids of our community of all ages and stages of development show up in our schools, streets and playing fields on a daily basis. Each of them a one-of-a-kind, unique-in-all-the-world singular miracle.

Any of us who has raised a child is intimately familiar with all the ways extended family and teachers and coaches and friends and neighbors and caregivers show up for them to help them discover and celebrate their gifts and goodness and dreams. Our collective miracle.

Great expectations for our kids are grounded in generative relationships and fueled by timely investment and opportunity made possible by communities adept at this all-in kind of loving that kids need to succeed. Like ours.

The Great Expectations Initiative is our collective impact way to love our kids - all of them, each and every one of them, all along the way - from cradle to career. There's a role for each and every one of us. It's our miracle, their miracle, waiting to happen. You are invited to find your irreplaceable role in this sacred venture and come along.

Great Expectations Campaign

It takes an all-in investment of the community, from cradle to career, to make sure ALL our kids are on a path to succeed in school and in life.

A great education is the path out of poverty.

Be informed
Attend the Great Expectations (GE) Breakfast Wednesday, Aug. 22, 7:30-9 a.m., sponsored by Wayzata Community Church. Learn what community-based volunteers and GE partners discovered will change the odds for struggling kids...and how YOU can help. Breakfast is free, but please register by Aug. 13.

Invest in our kids
Donate to the Great Expectations campaign - our goal is to raise $260,000 to support youth and education by Sept. 30. Between now and Aug. 31, a generous donor will match gifts up to $20,000. Change the odds for local kids with an online gift (c hoose "Great Expectations" from the drop-down menu).

Eid Holiday Gift Program - Thank You!

As part of the Holiday Gift Program, Interfaith Outreach raised money during May-June to assist families celebrating Eid ul-Fitr. Eid (pronounced "eed") occurs at the end of Ramadan, a month-long Muslim religious tradition filled with fasting, charitable giving, peace-making and family get-togethers.

A huge thank you to our community for your support of families celebrating Eid. Because of you, 62 families (328 individuals) enjoyed special holiday clothing and family activities. Thank you for helping our neighbors celebrate a blessed holiday!

Resale Select Furniture Sale

Wow! A huge round of applause (and gratitude) to all who helped make Resale Select's Furniture Tent Sale a success! Thank you to the donors, staff, shoppers and 75 amazing volunteers who helped sell 216 pieces of furniture. Because of you, Resale Select brought in over $7,340 sales in only one day!

This will go far to help struggling families and kids in our community.

Hooray! Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community - we can't do this important work without you.
