Reminder: Church of the  Redeemer
Summer Sunday Worship - 9:30 am

Announcements

Welcome Pastor Bruce
Continuing this Sunday and throughout the month of July, Reverend Bruce Davis will be the Sunday Missioner for the Church of the Redeemer.  Pastor Bruce recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of his ordination as a Lutheran minister and, although recently retired, continues to serve as supply clergy  to several area congregations. Welcome Pastor Bruce.

Summer Worship Schedule
This Sunday and continuing through Sunday, September 1st, there will be one service each Sunday morning at 9:30 am.  The regular worship s chedule will resume with Celebration Sunday, September 8th.

Thrift Shop
Tuesday, July 2nd was the last day the thrift shop was open before it closed for summer vacation.  Reopening is scheduled
for Tuesday, August 20th. Thank you for the many generous donations and to all the dedicated and hard-working volunteers who help to make the Redeemer Thrift Shop such a success. No donations will be accepted while the shop is closed.

BJ's Membership
Is there a member of the congregation with a BJ's connection who is willing to utilize it to purchase supplies, on the church's behalf, (bottled water for the dispensers and bathroom paper) two to three times per year?  Before she moved, this was one of the many behind-the-scenes tasks that Mary Huber undertook; and, as BJ's offers the best pricing for these items, it would be most advantageous to continue to purchase them there.  Please contact the church office if you would be willing to assume this responsibility.

Coffee Hour Hosts Needed
In order to continue fellowship hour during the summer, hosts are needed for the following Sundays: July 14, July 21, August 4, August 11 and August 25.   If you are able to serve in this special ministry please contact Ruth Ward and/or sign up on the sheet in the Fellowship Hall.

Ushers Needed
If you would like to help in this special Ministry of Welcome, please contact Sharon Parry.

Acolytes Needed
We are in desperate need of additional acolytes. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please contact Elaine McDaid.

Volunteers Needed

Fellowship Hour Hosts, Acolytes, Ushers and Flower Guild

If you would like to volunteer for any of these important ministries, contact Ruth Ward (Fellowship),
Helen Lightcap (Flower Guild), Elaine McDaid (Acolytes)
or Sharon Parry (Ushers)

Prayer Book

At the back of the church is a Prayer Book.
On the cover it says  "For those in need..."  In the book please write in the names of those who need our prayers. Please enter the name and the date (and reason, if you wish). At every Eucharist and at Evening Prayer, we will pray for those named in the book. After a month, the person's name will be removed from our prayers, unless it is entered anew.

Please pray for those who need healing and comfort:

Ashley Ann, Diane, Erin W, Isaac, James M, Nick, Ruth,
Rose Adams, Joe Atkinson, Betty Brown, Marlaine Brown,
Ralph Cole, Pete Davis, Debbie Diehl, Steve Farrell, Bob and
Katie Grange, Jett Hall, Emily Knox, Martin Knox, Chris Lamb, Joanne Magalon, Lucy Rooney, Peter Rosado, Joan Sherrill,
Carl Witzel and those we hold in our hearts.

Please pray for the departed.
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon them.

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servants, and give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs, that those for whom our prayers are offered may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,  one God,  now and forever.   Amen.

Altar Flower Dedications

Sponsoring our Sunday altar flowers is a great way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, remember a loved one who has passed, or mark any other special occasion.  The suggested donation is $20 per arrangement, which offsets the cost of the flowers provided by Leary's Florist.  If you wish to sponsor the flowers, please submit your name and preferred wording of the dedication to [email protected] or in a note placed in the offering plate.

Property Team
Things To Be Done Around Redeemer Notebook

If you notice something that needs attention around the campus (i.e. leaky toilet, broken light, etc.), please record it in the black & white  notebook in the Property Team's mailbox outside the church office.

Blue Gift
Gift of Angels

There are expenses that pop up that are not included in our annual operating budget, and this program covers those.

Your gift to the Gift of Angels program can be in the form of a monetary donation or a gift-in-kind and can be made in thanksgiving or in memory of someone. It can cover all or part of an item on the wish list.  All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  You will receive recognition of your gift, and all gifts are recorded in our Book of Memorials and Gifts.

The Wish List currently includes: weed control supplies, floor buffer and pads and chairs for the Parish Hall.

Please make checks payable to Church of the Redeemer and designate Gift of Angels or your specific designation on the memo line.

Your consideration of support for this campaign is greatly appreciated!

Riddle Hospital's Hospice Comfort Cart

In an effort to improve the care they provide, Riddle Hospital has created a Comfort Cart for their patients who have been placed on hospice care.  The goal is to make each patient's room a calm environment while addressing the psycho-social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. They are seeking donations of prayer books and small bibles, religious items such as rosaries or icons; 3' x 4' blankets which are placed on the patients and taken home by the family after their loved one passes away. If you wish to help, please contact Stefanie McMahon at [email protected] or (484) 227-3240.
