The Annie E. Casey Foundation released the 30th edition of the national KIDS COUNT®  Data Book. Georgia ranks 38th in the nation. The data confirms that Georgia's investments in children and families-and our unrelenting commitment to improve the well-being of children and families in every community across our statewide network-are paying off. We must continue to work together to build a strong social infrastructure and evaluate our progress, and we must continue to invest in our most valuable resource-children and families.
Family Connection's Community Survey is now open, and we need to hear your voice! Please take a few minutes to complete our survey about underage drinking prevention in Dawson County.
Visit www.capa-ga.org for more information on our #BeTheKey Campaign.

I recently was speaking with a foster parent that is preparing to adopt a sibling group of 6 children. Yes, you read that right; six. She is an amazing person, for sure.
However, not all of us can do that, but there are things that everyone can do to help. You could work with your church to sponsor a night out for foster parents, do a diaper drive, adopt a foster family and help them with occasional transportation or babysitting or simply drop a home cooked meal off to them once a month. You could become an approved respite parent, offering short term care to support long term foster parents. Or you could foster, or adopt and give a child the most precious gift of all; a future with a committed family. A mom to call at all hours of the day or night, who answers the phone and listens. A dad who teaches life skills.
