The summer of 2020 will be one none of us are soon to forget. For our family, graduation from high school for my youngest was delayed and had a different feel to it. I am thankful we could even gather to celebrate this achievement at all. I am sure all of us have seen our plans impacted in some form or fashion in the last couple of months. As we continue to navigate this new world that we live in, one thing remains – GOD IS IN CONTROL! Can I get an Amen?
I am going to open my heart to you for just a moment and share what God is doing in my life right now. For me, this pandemic has completely altered my fast-paced schedule. The slow-down has allowed me to focus so much on my relationship with the Lord. I am currently reading four chapters a day in the Bible along with reading a devotional and journaling my thoughts with the Lord. This focus has completely energized my relationship with God. It’s hard to explain, but dedicated time in God’s Word and in prayer has an amazing effect upon our lives. I challenge you to join me in this effort. I have now finished 11 books of the Bible and am on pace to finish the entire Bible by the end of the year. God’s word is truly “the bread of life.”
Life at CAS these days is certainly in the fast lane. We have had 13 children placed with Christian families since March 12
th
. This is such a praise to share with you, and all the glory goes to God. Our staff has not skipped a beat these last few months. We have such a wonderful team of folks that love the Lord and have a huge passion for adoption. I am so blessed to lead such a fantastic team!
Our development team is working hard on all of our events that are scheduled later this summer and early fall. Due to re-scheduling some from the spring, we are going to be really busy with three golf events and three banquets in 59 days. We hope you will consider supporting if you are able.
On a final note, thanks for your prayers and support of Christian Adoption Services. Life in the non-profit world over the last four months has been challenging. As we entered this new world back in March, I prayed for the Lord’s protection over this ministry and that He would lead us through these uncertain times. For over 41 years, He has once again shown that those who stand upon His word will be blessed. I am thankful for the legacy and impact CAS has had since 1979 and I truly believe the best days are ahead as we stand together with Christ. The new date for the Super Hero Gala in Apex, NC is Thursday, September 17

. We invite those of you comfortable attending to join us at Apex Baptist Church as we share an amazing story of rescue and redemption. We will also livestream the event for anyone not yet ready to attend a gathering. Registration for this event opens on our website at the end of the month.

We are so excited that despite all that is going on, we are still having our birth mothers retreat on July 10th-12th! Please continue to be in prayer as we minister and honor these amazing moms! We are grateful to the donors that make this weekend possible and look forward to the opportunities that come from gathering and giving glory to Him. If you still desire to donate to this amazing event you can do so below!

We would also love and appreciate your prayers. Here are a few things to pray for:
- That this weekend would create community between birthmothers
- That the birthmothers who don't know Christ would come to know Him as Lord and Savior
- That we would have ample funds to love on these birthmothers
- Lastly, spend time that weekend praying for the birthmothers who are in attendance as well as those who are in the process of making the brave decision of placing their child in a Christian home

Silent Auction
I think we all agree that 2020 has been a long year, and we’re only halfway through...but, the Christmas holiday season will be here before we know it. Our upcoming Silent Auction is a great opportunity to purchase some awesome gifts (or maybe something for yourself) while supporting the mission of CAS. This year’s Silent Auction will be completely online and will run September 13

As you know, North Carolina is pausing in Phase 2 for a few more weeks and requiring face masks in public spaces to help fight the spread of COVID-19. With that development, it has become increasingly difficult to plan for family picnics when we do not know if playgrounds will be open for our events. So, it is with great disappointment that we let you know that this year’s family picnics in Raleigh and Charlotte have been cancelled. While we will miss spending the day with you, we know that it’s important to keep everyone safe and healthy. We look forward to getting together in 2021! Thank you for your understanding.
