The Montefiore Institute is the most well traveled synagogue in history. It's lived in five places over its 103 year history. As the building celebrates 10 years at Canada's largest living history museum, come hear stories - as told by Irena Karshenbaum, the founder and president of The Little Synagogue on the Prairie Project Society - about how one of the last surviving prairie synagogues came to the park and all of its wonderful adventures since (enjoy this free presentation as part of Historic Calgary Week 2019).

Please join us for our special observance of Tisha B'av as we recite the Megillah of Eicha (Lamentations). We will follow the tradition by sitting, as though in mourning, on the ground or on benches without cushions while the Megillah is read in a darkened room. Please remember to bring a flashlight.
