  • June 27 - Over Easy opens the season, recreating '60s harmonies and the sounds of the British invasion
  • July 11 - The Barons, '50s & '60s doo wop
  • July 18 - Billy and the Showmen, '60s/'70s R&B
  • July 25 - Echoes of Sinatra with Steve Kazlauskas, a crowd-pleasing American Songbook/Rat Pack compilation

Wilton's own soccer superstar Kristine Lilly visits Wilton Library for a special talk about her new book, Powerhouse, written with Dr. John Gillis, Jr. and Dr. Lynette Gillis. The book shares research-backed principles that helped Kristine and her team on the soccer field and explains how these same principles will help you in business and in life. From the early stages of teammate selection, to strategy, collaboration, and execution, Powerhouse reveals what goes into building a high-performing organization. Q&A will follow the talk. No charge. New Yorker Shorts - 6 Weeks of New Yorker Short Stories
Wednesdays, July 3, 10, 17, 24 & August 7 @12pm
Back by popular demand for our fifth year! Professional book discussion leader Susan Boyar will discuss six short stories published in The New Yorker magazine over six consecutive weeks. Each Wednesday's meeting will be about the previous week's story. Story titles will be announced one week prior to the discussion. The current issue of The New Yorker is available in the Reading Room for in-library use or download it through RBDigital. Bring lunch; beverages will be provided. More info & register

Our Teen Services staff has been hard at work developing an exciting slate of July programs for students in grades 6 to 12. Programs include  Rocketry for Teens & Tweens, making Paracord Bracelets & Tie Dye Shirts, Sweet Treat Olympics, Coding Camp for Girls in grades 6-8, trivia, crafting, iPhone photography and more. Many of these programs have limited sign-ups so reserve your spot now. More than Playful Virtuosity: The Poetry of John Updike
Thursdays, July 11, 18, 25 & August 1 @10:30am
Judson Scruton leads a 4-part series on the poetry of John Updike. The lectures will examine a selection of Updike's poetry with references to his life and selected works of fiction. Susan Boyer, leader of the Wilton Library Readers and this summer's 6 New Yorker Short Stories in 6 Weeks, will co-lead the July 25 session. The Updike story she will discuss is "Here Comes the Maples" - first published in The New Yorker, October 3, 1976. This seminar is made possible with the support of the Literary Series in Memory of Amy Quigley. More info & register
