Reminders for New Students and Families
Required online modules for new students will be available on July 23 and must be completed by August 23. Instructions will be sent to your student's WMU email account.
  • Transit Financial Wellness - Assists students in learning about money management through personalized financial education for college and beyond. 
  • AlcoholEdu for College - Empowers students to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and helps them reflect on issues related to drinking. 
  • Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates - Focuses on healthy relationships, the importance of consent, and clear communication. This module also emphasizes the many ways students contribute to the creation of a safe and positive campus environment.
Fall Move-In Information

Join us in the Bernhard Center on move-in days (Aug. 24-25) in the Family Hospitality Room. Open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Create a (free) survival kit for your student (to be delivered during the Fall Welcome program).
  • Write a note of encouragement (to be delivered 3 weeks into fall semester).
  • Take a break from the stress of move-in day (refreshments and tissues provided).
  • Get your last-minute questions answered.

Financial/Academic Reminders

  • For questions regarding financial aid, contact Bronco Express by visiting them in the Bernhard Center or calling (269) 387-6000.
  • Remind your student to send in final high school transcripts as soon as possible.
  • Fall tuition bills will be posted to your student's GoWMU account around July 25 and payment is due on Aug. 22.
Global Ambassador Scholarship Program
The WMU Global Ambassadors Scholarship Program is a four-year program for incoming first-year students that explores global engagement through coursework, study abroad and local community involvement. The program is worth approximately $20,000 ($5,000 per year) and the application deadline is July 22.
 
Family Weekend and Homecoming 2018

Plans are moving along for WMU's 2018 Family Weekend and Homecoming. The theme this year is FOREVER GOLD and we are looking forward to welcoming you to campus.

Highlights of this special weekend include:
  • Pre-football game tailgate event with dedicated space for families to connect with each other
  • Bronco football vs. Eastern Michigan
  • Sunday Brunch in the Valley Dining Center
  • Access to the Student Rec Center with your MyWMU Concierge Card
  • And much more!
Ticket information will be available on the Family Engagement website by the end of July and updated regularly. In the meantime, make your hotel reservations! Local hotels are filling up fast.
