TRAIL HIGHLIGHT:
Commons Boulevard Pathway
NCC CONNECTING COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE
|
|
As part of the launch of the
New Castle County Connecting Communities Initiative
, Delaware Greenways presented a check in the amount of $30,000 to New Castle County to support the
Commons Boulevard Pathway
Feasibility Study. Funding for the study is part of a grant for our Future Trails of Northern Delaware project made possible by the William Penn Foundation. We're especially excited about the Commons Boulevard Pathway that will connect thousands to the just completed Markell Trail. Ultimately this connection will further connect to the Christiana Hospital, the area's largest employer, and to the East Coast Greenway. We're proud to partner with New Castle County, the Future Trails of Northern Delaware Coalition and the entire trails and pathway community to build a network of trails and pathways for recreation and transportation making for a more connected, engaged and healthier Delaware.

TOUR THE NORTHERN DELAWARE GREENWAY TRAIL
The Northern Delaware Greenway Trail was one of the 1st bicycle and pedestrian pathways that Delaware Greenways advocated for in New Castle County. We've now created a story map of the trail that allows you to get a view of it and learn about the natural and historic areas it travels through, including 3 state parks that offer a ton of recreational activities! Fall is the perfect time to explore all that's along this scenic greenway!

Farm 2 Table Dinner at Penn Farm
|
We always look forward to Autumn with its change in temperature and scenery, but with the season also comes our Farm 2 Table dinner. Held earlier this month in the beautifully preserved barn at Historic Penn Farm, we had a wonderful evening with all who joined us. Wilmington's
Movable Feast
created a delicious menu which included ingredients grown by William Penn High School
Penn Farm students
and
Against The Grain
Farm
. It was a special night of culinary delights and warm conversations!
Special thanks to
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Moore Brothers Wine Company, Jay's Valet, Freedom Farm Tables and Janssen's Market.
