MCCU Gives Financial Literacy Workshop for Local High School Seniors
MCCU's Vice President of Marketing recently gave a financial literacy (smart money management) workshop to local high school seniors who are part of the
TRiO Upward Bound program
, at L.A. Valley College.
The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
We love being able to educate our community about financial literacy and to help kids avoid financial hardships as they get older.
Katherine De La Torre, Academic Advisor for the TRiO Upward Bound program, praised the workshop and the credit union: "
Matadors Community Credit Union came out to L.A. Valley College and did a fantastic job explaining important finance info to my seniors, soon to be adults. I wanted them to learn about credit scores, credit unions vs. banks, and just everything about money in general. Thank you Matadors Community Credit Union!"
