Architecture after 5 at Wallace Engineering!



Call for Chit Chat Presenters!
The AIA Central Oklahoma September 13th Luncheon is the annual CHIT CHAT (20 slides | 20 seconds) luncheon and we are now taking nominations for presenters.  If you are interested in presenting, please email to  [email protected].  Please include your name, company, title of your talk and a short description about your presentation.  The deadline to submit is August 10, 2018.
 
Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when submitting your presentation for consideration.
  • The AIACOC Chit Chat program is meant to promote the importance of design and therefore must contain some element of design.
  • Chit Chat is not meant to promote one's company or product but rather to promote design and the built environment. 
  • Chit Chat presentations should include a personal aspect; your personal interpretation of some sort of art / life / design experience. 
  • Chit Chat is meant to not only promote architecture but other aspects of the design arts so in addition to architects and intern architects, we welcome interior designers, graphic designers, landscape architects, photographers and artists.

We still have booths and sponsorships available for this year's AIA Oklahoma Conference on Architecture!  We hope you'll join us in Enid Oklahoma on November 8-9.  It's going to be another great conference!!

Registration Opens on July 16th!  
Mark your calendars for the 2018 AIA Oklahoma Conference on Architecture set to take place on Thursday, November 8 - Friday, November 9 in Enid, Oklahoma.  We have speakers from Puerto Rico, Chicago, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York and more!  You won't want to miss this year's conference!  

HOTEL ROOMS: 
We have a block of rooms at the Springhill Suites by Marriott.
Rooms are $99 plus tax per night.
 
Reservations must be made by calling the hotel at 580-540-4256. The group code is AIA.
 
This block and special rate will be on a first come basis and the block will be released on October 7, 2018.

Oklahoma City Mayor's Committee on Disability Concerns Awards 
The OKC Mayor's Committee on Disability Concerns is now accepting nominations for their awards program.  

One category of interest to our architects is:

Clearing the Path Award: In support of the concept of creating residential spaces to make our community accessible to everyone, nominations can be made for any architect, designer, builder, contractor, or individual who has embraced "Universal Design" and CLEARING THE PATH for all of us. A qualified residence must have clear access, clear passage, and clear use.
