Have you ever had a person on your heart when you have gone to bed? Recently, as I laid down I began to ask the Lord "how" to pray for them as I committed them into his hands. When I woke up, Ephesians three was on my mind and I knew that was my answer! It covers everything! When this takes place, everything else will fall in line! As I read over the passage in several translations, I felt the Amplified rendering gives us greater "ammo" for our warfare. Once we can agree with Heaven, it's done! Then we stand by daily agreeing with His Word!
Look at Ephesians 3:9-21 (We can personalize this passage for it states "all men", referring to mankind, opening up this powerful prayer to you and those you are praying for. I have left a blank for you to insert your name or the one you are praying for. Key phrases to pray have been pulled from the Amplified translation as I was led to pray. My additions are in italics.)
(Father I ask you) to enlighten_____ and make plain to her what is the plan [regarding salvation and of the mystery kept hidden until now in God Who created all things by Christ Jesus. (Lord, thank you for your plan! Thank you for enlightening ____to what has been a mystery to her but has been provided for her in Christ Jesus!)
[The purpose is] that the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known. (Father, make known to ___ your many sided wisdom regarding her life with the aspect that she needs right now.)
This is in accordance with Your eternal and timeless purpose which was realized and carried into effect in [the person of] Christ Jesus our Lord, for _____,
In Whom, when ____ puts her faith in Him, she will have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (to God with freedom and without fear).
I ask that ____ not to lose heart [not to faint or become despondent through fear]
For this reason seeing the greatness of this plan by which we are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named
That He grant ____out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling ____innermost being and personality].
May Christ through faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in ____ heart! May she be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
That ____may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
[That____may really come] to know [practically, through experience for herself] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that ____ may be filled [through all her being] unto all the fullness of God, [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
Now to You, Lord, Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-
To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
