This Thursday, on February 4 at 6:00 p.m. the Simsbury SPIRIT Council, Simsbury Public Library, and Simsbury Department of Social Services will host, “Simsbury Let’s Talk: Housing,” a discussion roundtable, as well as, community conversation about housing in Simsbury. The event will be moderated by SPIRIT Council member Nkosi Lee. Other panelists will include, First Selectman Eric Wellman, Deputy First Selectman Sean Askham, Planning Commission Chair William Rice, Anika Singh Lemar, Clinical Professor of Law at Yale, and Dr. Susan Eaton, Professor of Practice in Social Policy and Director of the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy, and author of Steady Habit of Segregation: The Origins and Continuing Harm of Separate and Unequal Housing and Public Schools in Metropolitan Hartford, Connecticut.
The panel and the audience will discuss current housing issues in Simsbury and respond to questions raised by those in attendance. The virtual event is free and open to the public.
