I taped an unusual unboxing video this morning. This one was the "leftovers" from a real big trader that passed away a few years ago.  When I say it was random that is an understatement.  Still I think I can see a little bit of history there.  I'll publish it later today hopefully on Facebook and YouTube.
Vintage Scouting Memorabilia On eBay
It's a sad day when you see that one of your favorite patches has been faked and is on eBay for sale.  Whoever did this got the details pretty close (well except for missing a rolled edge border).  If you click through and look at the back however that is a huge giveaway.  There is really no way to stop fakes from being made but the incentive for fakers is all of us piling on and bidding on these just to stick them in our collection. Just say no!

Order of the Arrow Top Selling Auctions
Starting today me and my employee are going to start a rolling inventory of the almost 20,000 items I have listed for sale across all my stores.  I've had a few too many cases of patches sold that aren't actually in the box.  Over the years human error creeps into any stock of items for sale and so we are systematically going to work through it in chunks over the next month to clean things up.

Scouting Auctions Ending Soon on eBay
Tomorrow I'm driving to Columbia to take part in a volunteer appreciation drop-in that includes free BBQ and Bluegrass music.  This is the camp promotion event for the Indian Waters Council so it's our chance to talk to local troops about Camp Barstow.  In the morning I plan on hitting my antique mall and getting it restocked for the fall.

Patchblanket eBay Store Santeeswapper
My auction strategy on eBay continues with auctions running on all the accounts.  One thing I'm also doing on Santeeswapper is cutting loose some stale inventory by running .99 cent auctions on some things I've had listed for more than 18 months with no sales.
Last night we did a shrimp boil for the Webelos patrol prior to the Halloween party.  This was our plan for Saturday night at the Cub-O-Ree but it got rained out.  So we got it done last night and the kids got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes and Halloween candy for dessert. Sounds about right for Cubs!

In Charlotte, North Carolina I have an antique mall booth that is filled with nothing but Scouting stuff.  I call this location my clearance center because I've marked down everything to move.  A lot of what you will find there are items that are too bulky to easily ship from an Internet store.  The booth is located in The Sleepy Poet which is a well established antique mall on South Blvd in Charlotte.  The mall is open 7-days/week year round.  So the next time you are in the area come check it out.
